How to Register:


The 2024 DC Summer Math Institute runs from June 17th -28th, 2024, Monday through Friday, from 1 pm - 5 pm, online via Zoom and Google Classroom. All students are loaned a 2-in-1 Surface Pro device, to be picked up from the Sidwell Friends Wisconsin Ave campus parking garage the weekend of June 15th-16th and returned the weekend of June 29th- 30th. The cost of the two-week program is $1400, and a 50% non-refundable deposit of $700 is necessary to secure your child’s spot. Registration for the DC Summer Math Institute involves two steps:

Step 1: Send the 50% non-refundable deposit of $700 via Venmo to @dcsummermath. (Last four digits of cell phone are 3823)

IMPORTANT: Please use the Payment between Friends option instead of the Goods and Services payment option in order to avoid having to pay an extra transaction fee. Also, in the memo for the payment, write “DCSMI deposit for (your child’s name)”. If Venmo is not a payment option for you, email director Andrew Callard at callarda@sidwell.edu to arrange for an alternate payment option. If you would like to pay the entire tuition all at once, that is fine, too. Please note that all payments are non-refundable, with absolutely no exceptions, even for family emergencies that might prohibit your child from participating at the last minute. Financial aid is available to Sidwell Friends School students who are currently receiving financial aid during the school year for tuition. If you are requesting financial aid, please email Andrew Callard at callarda@sidwell.edu, and he will let you know both your discounted tuition amount and your adjusted deposit amount.

Step 2: Fill out the two online forms below (Form 1 and Form 2)

These two forms below, the Parent Agreement Form and the Surface Pro Loan Agreement Form, must be completed in full and submitted online for your child to register for the Institute and officially participate in July. (Alums seeking re-admission must have these forms submitted online by January 15, 2024 to ensure enrollment before registration is opened to new students, and new students seeking admission must have these forms submitted immediately (and have paid the non-refundable 50% deposit) once they are informed of their acceptance to do the Institute in order for their registration to be considered official. May 30th, 2024 is the ultimate deadline for form submission.

If the form(s) are not completed and submitted by this May 30th deadline, your child's spot may be given to a student on the waitlist.  Please submit both required forms at once to simplify their processing.  (Feel free to confirm your forms have been received by emailing me at callarda@sidwell.edu).
